This building houses the interlocking system, a mechanism used to control the switches and signals of the station and the tracks. The current interlocking tower dates back to 1928 and replaced the original mechanical interlocking system with an electromechanical one. The previous building had a ground floor and one upper level and the current building has a ground floor and two upper levels. Once it was decided to replace the original interlocking, MZA extended the building and equipped it with a large glazed window to provide the interlocking table operator with full visibility of all manoeuvres carried out in the station. <\/p>\n

In addition to the restoration of the original 1928 interlocking, the building includes a visitor reception area, a reconstruction of the stationmaster's office and ticket sales counter, an information area regarding safety issues in rail traffic and an audiovisual projection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
